Election Day Yoga
We've all been put through the ringer this campaign season, that's for sure!
Now that election day is finally here, let’s remember that yoga is meant to prepare us for times like this. Asana practice trains us to breathe through thick and thin, and boy will that come in handy as the voting results start rolling in this evening! When you feel stress welling up, close your eyes. Pause and feel your breath. Keep it fluid and steady. Allow yourself to sink deeper and deeper into the sensation. Feel your chest rise and fall. Feel the air move in and out. Breathe out fear and breathe in love. Feel your body relax and your mind let go. Repeat as often as necessary. You'll feel better, I promise!
Even the hardest of postures only last for five breaths, just as the hardest of days is only 24 hours. Take it one breath at a time and it will over before you know it.
