Favorite Inspirational Quotes
Have you noticed social media has been inundated with inspirational quotes lately?
An inspirational quote is meant to motivate us and remind us that which is obvious but that we tend to forget. It may carry a significant teaching or be simple words by which to live.
These quotes help us live a better life, asking us to stop and think about the simpler and more transcendent aspects of our existence. They are words of wisdom, taken from sacred texts, maybe a quote by a well-known philosopher, author, an inventor, an entrepreneur, a celebrity, or anyone really who has something worth sharing. Each of these meaningful phrases carries great knowledge, an experience lived by someone before us, or an intention to keep us focused and on track.
Many people have dedicated social media feeds of inspirational quotes; others print them out and stick them to their fridge or bathroom mirror as a daily reminder. I know some who carry a notepad with a collection of their favorite quotes to reference at any moment.
Some people have a quote that they rely on, time and time again, since it seems to apply in many situations. Some phrases may become our daily mantra while others--no matter how inspirational they may seem at the time--we fail to remember.
We all have a favorite inspirational quote. In no particular order, here are ten of mine, which I can easily remember. Some were repeatedly told to me as a child, others that I use to teach my own children, and others that bring me comfort in difficult situations.
