Heading Back to Puerto Rico
Have you ever traveled to a place and felt you strongly resonated there? Like a piece of you was sleeping but suddenly awakened when you arrived?
For me, that place is beautiful Puerto Rico--one of my favorite places in the world!
As a surfer, I've traveled to the northwest corner of PR at least once a year for the past 9 years to score some world-class waves. This year, I am excited to be traveling with some of my best girlfriends--I haven't done a girls' surf trip in years!
When I am in Puerto Rico, I still practice yoga daily, though sometimes I need to go light because surfing can be physically taxing. But yoga is definitely what helps me stay limber and injury-free on a surf trip. I try to practice outside, near the ocean, so I can take a dip in the Caribbean Sea afterwards. It sounds so heavenly as I type it...I can't wait to be there!
Though Puerto Rico always stays in my heart, I'm a different person each time I travel back. Every year, I see it through different eyes. This year, I have done so much internal work with yoga that I definitely feel like a different person. My heart is a little more in yoga than it is in surfing for the first time ever. I have a new (healthier, more fulfilling) way of relating with friends and loved ones. So I am eager to see how PR will seem to me this year, and how it will be to experience it with some of my closest friends.
See ya next week yogis!
