The Enduring Yogi
Reaping the benefits of yoga will take a while. You don’t get to hurry through the process; you have to take it one breath at a time for the rest of your life.
In an effort to gain spiritual wisdom quickly, you rush things along. Because of this, you go about the practice incorrectly. Incorrect practice leads to pain, suffering, and even injury; none of which is helpful.
Yoga takes endurance. It takes patience and perseverance. It will test your strengths. It will test your weaknesses. It will obliterate your ego and open your mind to your innate spirituality. It will knock you down and pick you back up. It will change your life, for the better… But only if you go slow and practice properly.
The notion of enduring applies to many aspects of life… Relationships, health, financial security, and business. To reap the rewards of your effort, these things take time and dedication -- like yoga. Check out this blog post by my boyfriend Matt and how the virtues of enduring apply to business and sustainability. In the end, it's all connected.
